Club Events 2012

The following event dates are now confirmed.

Effort was once again made by the Events Committee to hold our events on alternative dates to other UK modeling shows.

This year, the LMA have chosen to hold their RAF Cosford event on the same day as we usually hold our Scale and Jet event here at Hucknall. We have therefore decided to swap the planned Scale and Electric event dates.

To fly at our 'Electric Fly-In Weekend', or our September 'All Models Fly-in', pilots must hold at least a BMFA 'A' Certificate, or a 'B' Certificate if flying a turbine or large model.

There will be an assistant for each pilot on the flight line.
This person can be provided by Hucknall MAC, or be one of your flying colleagues if you prefer.

Proof of insurance and certificate of competence will need to be shown before flying.

These two events are not open to the general public, but showing at least one BMFA Membership Card will allow you and a car full of mates or family onto the airfield.

The other event is a full weekend of scale and turbine powered aircraft, and is open to the general public.
You must hold a BMFA 'B' Certificate to fly at this event, due to the presence of the general public.

The flying will commence at 10:00am on each date, and end at around 4:00pm.

Before you travel to any these events, email the named person below for the respective event to confirm it is still going ahead, and for any additional information about the day.

More details will be posted on this website nearer the dates, and also on the BMFA classifieds pages.

'All Models Fly-In Weekend'

This event is not open to the general public, but will include a 'Swapmeet' on the Sunday - Open to anyone holding current BMFA membership, and their car full of guests.

The intention is to have this weekend as a more relaxed event, where you can bring any type of model that may not have fit into any other class or category... Sport planes, Panic's, EasyStreet's, Blizzards, Depron Hacks, Experimental, Boomerang's etc.

The same applies to the other events with regard certificates.
At both 'fly-ins', a minimum of BMFA 'A' Certificate is required.
A turbine powered or 'Large' model requires the pilot to hold a BMFA 'B' Certificate.

Entry fee is just £2 per pilot, to cover the rental cost of the toilets.

To help us along, we have confirmation of a fly-past by a Battle of the Britain Memorial Flight Spitfire on the Saturday. Confirmation of the time will be announced nearer the date... ...watch this space.
